Our Story

dedaun+co. was born in a special kind of place - a five-room bungalow in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, home to a small family of four. The house sat on a spacious green plot, surrounded by tall trees, gently rustling leaves, and a yard that welcomed morning light and birdsong each day. Squirrels danced along the branches and the air carried the calm only nature could offer - a peaceful rhythm that felt far removed from the city just beyond the gates.

In that serene leafy home the earliest seeds of dedaun+co. were planted. Quiet moments of self-care became rituals - blending natural oils, breathing in calming scents and creating products for emotional ease and inner balance.

The name “dedaun”, meaning “the leaves” in Malay, honours the trees that surrounded that home - a symbol of stillness , simplicity and nature's quiet power to ground and heal.
When the world came to a pause in 2020, during the height of the pandemic, those private rituals turned outward. dedaun+co’s first product was introduced commercially - created with care in small batches using natural ingredients - a gesture of calm and comfort during uncertain times.
The “+co” in our name represents more than "company". It stands for connection, community, and collaboration - because wellness isn't just about products. It's about the people we care for, the energy we keep, and space we create for reflection and rest.
Today, dedaun+co. continues to honour those beginnings - offering lifestyle wellness and artisanal self-care, made with intention, rooted in nature and created with the spirit of the leaves that started it all.
Note From the Founder

Hello, I’m Mizu - a wife, mother of two wonderful boys, and a practicing lawyer. I understand how easily life can fill with noise - the pace, the pressure, the endless demands of work and family. Like many, I’ve had to learn (and relearn) how to create space for calm, even in the busiest seasons.

My journey into natural wellness began in a place that quietly transformed me - Edinburgh, where I lived for seven years. Mysterious and beautiful, the city felt like a world apart: cobblestone streets veiled in morning mist, ancient stone buildings holding centuries of stories, and a soft hush that seemed to slow time itself. The rhythm of life there was gentler, and in that stillness, I began to rediscover myself.

During those years, I also travelled to several parts of Europe - wandering through towns and cities where artisanal apothecaries were part of everyday life. These small, often family-run spaces were filled with the scent of herbs, oils, and handmade remedies. They honoured nature’s healing power with quiet intention and deep respect and their presence left a lasting impression on me. There was something deeply inspiring in the way they blended beauty, simplicity, and purpose.

Back in Edinburgh, that inspiration lingered. Tucked among its winding streets, I found my own small refuge in a local apothecary-style shop. Their botanical offerings - carefully curated and deeply grounded in natural wellness - sparked something in me. I began blending my own essential oils at home, experimenting with scent and ritual as a way to find calm. What started as a personal practice soon became a form of emotional grounding — a quiet moment of stillness in a fast-moving world.

What began as a quiet personal practice in a faraway city slowly blossomed into something more. Years later, back in Kuala Lumpur, that same love for natural scent, stillness, and natural ease became dedaun+co. - a brand born from intention and created to support others in finding their own moments of peace.

Working closely with trusted global suppliers, I continue to craft each product with care, in small batches, with natural ingredients, and with the same spirit that first moved me all those years ago in Edinburgh.

dedaun+co. is more than a business. It’s a reflection of my journey — from the misty calm of a distant city to the leafy quiet of home - and a way to share the grounding comfort that scent and ritual can bring.
with love,
Mizu
xoxo
